Arsenal are making a serious push to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, reportedly surpassing Manchester United in the race for his signature. The prolific Nigerian striker, who has been in red-hot form on loan at Galatasaray, could be the marquee addition Mikel Arteta is seeking to bolster his attack. As Sports Digitale reports via Yagız Sabuncuoğlu, the Gunners have intensified their interest, making a potential Premier League switch a strong possibility for Osimhen.
Osimhen has been nothing short of exceptional for Galatasaray, netting 20 goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances. His performances have reinforced his reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in Europe, and it’s no surprise that Arsenal, Manchester United, and even PSG are keen to secure his services.

Napoli, his parent club, seem to have moved on from the striker, with reports confirming he isn’t in their long-term plans. A summer exit looks inevitable, especially with his €75million (£62m) release clause coming into play.
Manchester United have long been linked with Osimhen, particularly with Ruben Amorim looking to add another striker alongside Rasmus Højlund. However, Arsenal’s recent acceleration in talks suggests they may have the edge in this race.
Mikel Arteta’s attacking options have been under scrutiny, particularly with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus failing to consistently deliver the goals Arsenal require to sustain a title challenge. The absence of a prolific No.9 has been a glaring issue, and Osimhen’s arrival could be the solution.

With Havertz sidelined due to injury, the lack of natural competition up front has been exposed. Arsenal are keen to address this, and Osimhen represents a ready-made solution—strong, quick, and lethal in front of goal.
Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig remains another priority target for Arsenal, but Osimhen’s proven track record at the highest level makes him an intriguing alternative.
Despite Arsenal’s momentum, the deal is far from sealed. Manchester United remain interested, and sources claim the race is ‘completely open.’ Osimhen has previously expressed a desire to play in the Premier League, making both English clubs appealing options.

Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, have been monitoring Osimhen for some time. The French giants view his €75m release clause as reasonable, though they are expected to push for a structured deal similar to the one they negotiated for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Chelsea’s name has also surfaced in the conversation, but with their focus on financial balancing, they may struggle to match Arsenal or United’s efforts.
For Arsenal fans, this report is an exciting development. A player of Osimhen’s calibre would undoubtedly elevate the squad, providing the kind of cutting edge that has been missing in crucial moments. If Arsenal are serious about mounting a sustained Premier League and Champions League challenge, securing an elite striker is non-negotiable.
Osimhen’s skill set is tailor-made for the Premier League—his speed, physicality, and finishing ability would make him an instant threat. Furthermore, his knack for scoring in big games is exactly what Arsenal need to close the gap on Manchester City.
The main concern for the Gunners will be financial. With competition from Manchester United and PSG, the bidding war could drive the price beyond the release clause. Arsenal’s willingness to act decisively could be the difference between landing their target or seeing him move elsewhere.
If the club can finalise a deal, it would signal serious intent and demonstrate that Arsenal are ready to compete with Europe’s elite. For now, fans will be watching closely, hoping that Edu and Arteta can pull off what would be one of the most significant signings of the summer.
