Arsenal's 3-2 victory over Bayern Munch in the UEFA Women's Champions League on Wednesday was enough cement their spot at the top as the group stage draws to a close.
It was the perfect start for the Gunners, as Kyra Cooney-Cross's corner delivery caused Glodis Viggosdottir to send a deflection into the back of her own net. Bayern Munich bit back late in the opening half, as Magdalena Eriksson fired home the scraps of a corner from Giulia Gwinn.
The visitors were the next to take the lead, as Eriksson got her brace from another brilliant Gwinn delivery. However, Arsenal refused to give up as Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey completed the comeback for the side under the north-London lights.
Both sides will now eagerly await the quarter-final draw that will decide who they will next face in the European tournament. The draw will take place on February 7, with the quarter-finals hosted on March 18/19 and 26/27.
