According to talkSPORT, Liverpool see the 24-year-old centre-back as a logical next addition in their early summer recruitment drive. It follows the arrivals of Wirtz for £116.5million from Bayer Leverkusen and Kerkez for £40million from Bournemouth.

While those attacking and full-back reinforcements send a clear message, the next target adds something even more vital – long-term security in central defence.

He’d settle in fast and has the tools to be world class under the right coaching.
