Following his sensational start to life in the Premier League, Arne Slot has been sensationally snubbed for the season’s first Premier League Manager of the Month award.

Notching three wins under his belt, two of which were away from home, and having yet to concede a goal, Slot couldn’t have dreamt of a better three performances to open his account at Liverpool with.

Now one of only three managers in the Premier League era to win their first three games in charge, each without conceding a goal, Slot is part of an elite club - sitting alongside Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Sven-Goran Eriksson at Manchester City.

However, in a deeply controversial move, the Premier League has given Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler recognition for his team's unbeaten start with two wins and a draw.

While the award is partially fan-voted, most of the sway on who wins comes from an independent panel.

Brighton’s unbeaten showing in the Premier League so far has featured a 3-0 away win to Everton, a 2-1 home victory over Manchester United and a 1-1 draw away to 10-man Arsenal.

Arne Slot’s electric start to the season

When Jurgen Klopp announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down as manager, many fans were left heartbroken and dismayed about what the following season’s team would look like.

However, whilst keeping most of the senior personnel, Arne Slot managed a successful preseason campaign and through working closely with different players on their identified weaknesses, the club was in tip-top shape when it came to the opening fixture against Ipswich.

After what was perhaps the team’s first poor half of football this season, the Reds kicked into gear and won the game 2-0, and backed it up the following week with a home win against Brentford by the same scoreline.

And when it came to the Reds’ crunch fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford, he successfully outclassed Erik Ten Hag’s team in a comfortable 3-0 showing, although as the game kicked off on September 1st, the performance may have been overlooked by the Premier League.

But nonetheless, notching two wins without conceding a goal is still an unsurpassable start to the season for Slot, with little more he could've done to win his maiden honour.

Should the team continue its remarkable form in the club's September fixtures - at home to Nottingham Forest, at home to Bournemouth and away to Wolverhampton Wanderers - we may see him eventually get his flowers.
