Real Madrid appear to be on the verge of securing their third major acquisition of the summer, in the form of Franco Mastantuono.
Various reports suggest the Argentine international is soon set to join Los Blancos, who have paid his release clause worth around €45 million.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo has offered an update on the matter, claiming that Mastantuono has already signed for Real Madrid.
The youngster has penned a six-year deal which will keep him at Real Madrid until 2031. The club, for its part, have paid €45 million for the player, as mentioned earlier.
Merlo adds that Mastantuono will join Real Madrid on August 15 and will play the FIFA Club World Cup for River Plate.

In fact, the youngster travels to River Plate tonight to play in the Club World Cup, with the Argentine giants slated to face Urawa Reds in their first game on June 17.
It was reported last night that Xabi Alonso has big plans for Mastantuono. In fact, the Spanish tactician is considering offering the young Argentine a starting role in the team.
The addition of Mastantuono is a clear sign of intent from Real Madrid, who are expected to focus more on youth development under the leadership of Alonso.
With players like Arda Guler, Mastantuono and Jude Bellingham forming the creative line, Real Madrid are hopeful they can compete with Barcelona next season.
Although the club would have ideally liked Mastantuono to join before the Club World Cup, they weren’t able to reach an agreement with River Plate and as such, the player will only join in August.
