Earlier on in the season, Inter captain Martinez had been struggling.

The Argentine had not been at his best fitness-wise due to a shortened preseason. And even after he shook off those physical issues, there were a number of high profile misses.

This led to a worrying goal drought from Lautaro Martinez.

But over the last few weeks, the Nerazzurri captain has been right back to his best.

Martinez is scoring consistently and relentlessly again. And moreover, the quality of some of his recent goals has been of an extremely high standard.

After today’s match, Inter captain Martinez was in an extremely confident mood.

“I work hard every day so I can give a hand to the team,” the 27-year-old said.

Then, he declared that “my bad patch is over.”

“Now, I’m trying to give my best and help the team.”

“Inter have to always take three points,” Martinez added. “Today, we got them, and I’m happy.”
