The Nerazzurri earned this honor after winning their 20th Serie A title and unlocking the second golden star.

The Beneamata have been on rampant form since the start of the season, only losing twice to Sassuolo.

Martinez has played a large part in the club’s majestic domestic run. He currently leads the Serie A scoring charts with 24 goals to his name.

The Nerazzurri captain recognized the importance of the club’s achievement this season, while paying tribute to the club, his teammates as well as the fans.

“I thank the mayor because this award is an honor for us,” said the 2022 World Cup winner in his acceptance speech via FcInterNews.

“I also thank the people of Milano, our fans, my teammates and those who work at the club.
