Fresh off all but securing the La Liga title last weekend courtesy of victory over arch rivals Barcelona, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops have made the trip to Anoeta, for a meeting with Real Sociedad.

Ahead of next week’s Champions League semi-final showdown with Bayern Munich, the Blancos’ coaching staff, as expected, opted for a whole host of changes, with all but two players from their last starting XI having dropped out.

And amongst the beneficiaries of as much was the aforementioned Arda Güler.

Midfield starlet Güler was afforded his first-ever La Liga start at Anoeta, joining the likes of Brahim Díaz and Joselu in a new-look attack.

And, safe to say, the summer arrival in Madrid has since gone on to make his presence very much felt.

Just inside the half-hour mark, Güler was the beneficiary of a perfectly-weighted first-time delivery across the penalty area on the part of Dani Caravajal.

And the Turk made absolutely no mistake, in directing an unerring finish into the back of the Real Sociedad net.

Despite still having played less than 90 minutes of football in Spain’s top-flight, this came as Güler’s 2nd goal in Real’s famed colours.

More than anything else, though, it acted as a message, to head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Los Blancos’ headmaster has of course been hesitant to afford Güler a place in his team across the season to date, much to the bemusement of the club’s supporters, and members of the board, too.

The 19-year-old, for his part, has remained tight-lipped regarding his lack of playing time, plugging away behind the scenes in an effort to carve out a place for himself in the plans of his manager.

And, on Friday, Güler let his feet do the talking, providing a reminder to Ancelotti and anyone who may have forgotten of the unquestionable magic possessed in his boots.
