Antonio Rüdiger speaks out on Real Madrid future | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger has this week provided an update on his future with the club.

And the German’s comments will no doubt come as a source of relief for those worried about a potential departure for Rüdiger in the near future.

Amid the long-standing injury woes at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline, Rüdiger has remained the one constant over the last two seasons.

The former Chelsea man is now considered a leader in the dressing room in Spain’s capital, with his experience and never-say-die attitude crucial factors for an at-times inconsistent Blancos outfit.

Safe to say, then, that it will come as music to the ears of the Real fanbase to learn that, should he have his way, Rüdiger will not be departing the Santiago Bernabéu any time soon.

Speaking to the media whilst on international duty with Germany this week, the 32-year-old was drawn on his club plans moving forward.

And Rüdiger went on to assure:

“Future? In football you never know, but where I am now [Real Madrid], I’m really, really happy. I’m not looking forward to leave any time soon. That’s it.”
