The remarkable run of bad luck being endured by La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid when it comes to knee injuries has on Monday continued.
This comes amid confirmation that Blancos starlet Miguel Perales has become the latest player in Spain’s capital to suffer a torn ACL.
Perales, for those not familiar with his name, is a highly-regarded 18-year-old defender, who is currently plying his trade with Real Madrid’s U19s.
The centre-half was made use of from the off on Sunday, in his side’s División de Honor meeting with Valladolid.
After Perales was forced into a premature departure from the action, however, the worst possible news has since been confirmed.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘Miguel Perales, center back for Arbeloa’s Juvenil A, tore his cruciate ligament yesterday.’
Perales’ name becomes the latest on a long list of ACL ruptures at Real Madrid in recent times.
The most high-profile have of course come at senior level, in the form of Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Éder Militão (twice).
The problem has also long been a prevalent one at youth level at Valdebebas, though, with Perales having joined the likes of Joan Martínez, César Palacios and Daniel Mesonero in being diagnosed with a serious knee injury.
