After having failed at an attempt to sign Andreas Pereira previously, Palmeiras are on the verge of finally signing midfielder

An agreement between the player and the Brazilian club is already in place, with only a deal between Verdão and Fulham pending before an official announcement can be made.

Palmeiras are expected to be pay around €10 million (approx £8.6 million) for the former Manchester United man who left out of the squad for Sunday's game against his old club.

Pereira's contract runs until the end of this season and he has rejected renewal offers from the London club who are keen to get a fee for a player who could otherwise leave on a free.

There is competition for Pereira though, Fenerbahce and Olympique de Marseille are also said to be interested although the 29-year-old would prefer a return to Brazil.

In total, Pereira has played 119 games for the Cottagers, scoring 10 goals and assisting 19.
