The future of Carlo Ancelotti has always been a hot topic at Real Madrid. While the club have enjoyed immense success in the Italian’s second term at the Santiago Bernabeu, there is this undocumented view that reins must now go to a younger manager, who can complete the transition process.
To that end, Ancelotti spoke about his future at Real Madrd, among other things, in Giacomo Poretti’s Poretcast.
In the podcast, Ancelotti was notably asked about his future and when will he step down as the Real Madrid manager.
“The only thing that is clear to me is that I don’t decide when to leave Real Madrid. The president will decide, sooner or later it will happen,” he said.
It must be noted that Ancelotti has been speculated to leave numerous times in recent years, especially in the event of a poor run of form.
The veteran coach has been most recently linked with a move to AS Roma, although speculations have died down a bit in recent weeks.

But the Italian has always managed to steady the ship and has won two Champions League titles in his second term at the club.
On that note, Ancelotti spoke about the club’s heritage, adding, “Real Madrid have known how to adapt to modern football. There is no owner like in other clubs. The owners are the partners.
“The tradition is passed down from generation to generation. Santiago Bernabeu and now Florentino have understood that very well. No one is above the club.”
During the course of this campaign, Ancelotti has received multiple complaints surrounding his strategy of fielding experienced players and overlooking younger players.
The Italian pointed this out and even admitted that he has fought with many players during his career.
“Sometimes it seems we are not appreciated enough. I would like to be a fly on the wall to listen to what a player says when he is not playing and goes home. Many players have fought with me,” he concluded.
