Speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News ahead of Marseille’s trip to Auxerre this weekend, Olympique de Marseille defender Amir Murillo (29) confirms that he is currently in contract extension talks with the club. This follows a report from La Provence yesterday which revealed that the Panamanian defender was in talks over a reported two-year contract extension. The Panama international arrived in Provence at the end of the Summer of 2023 for a transfer fee worth €2.5 million and has since emerged as one of the most reliable defenders for OM , especially thriving this season under Roberto De Zerbi in a position which wasn’t necessarily his most comfortable. “It’s true that the club is in negotiations with my agent, but I’m staying concentrated on the match tomorrow and all the terms of the contract I leave to them” said Murillo to outlets at Marseille’s training ground, including Get French Football News.Roberto De Zerbi recently expressed his desire to keep Murillo as a long-term option at the club. “I hope he stays with us for many years because he is a good player, a great professional and a good guy,” said De Zerbi in a press conference attended by Get French Football News in January.GFFN | George Boxall – Reporting from La Commanderie, Marseille.
