Bournemouth are confident of completing a deal to sign Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Petrovic joined Chelsea from MLS side New England Revolution for £14m in the summer of 2023, but it appears he’s set to leave the club.
The 25-year-old excelled on loan at Strasbourg last season as they qualified for the Conference League, and was named their Player of the Season.
Petrovic was expected to challenge for the number one shirt next season, but he was left out of the squad for the Club World Cup.
It’s believed Chelsea have a gentleman’s agreement with Petrovic that he can leave for £25m this summer, and he’s not short of suitors.
It had been reported Petrovic was close to joining Sunderland, but those reports appear to be wide of the mark, although he looks set to join another Premier League club.

Bournemouth are in the market for a new keeper having had Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea last season, and have identified Petrovic as the man they want.
The Cherries submitted an offer for the Serb on Wednesday and Romano has now provided an update on the situation.
He took to X.com and said:
“After official bid sent on Wednesday as revealed, Bournemouth are confident to get Djordje Petrović deal done.
“Understand Petrović has already accepted to join #AFCB.
“Final green light from Chelsea, expected soon.”
Petrovic won’t be the only goalkeeper leaving Chelsea this summer, and the Blues face a big decision on what to do with teenager Mike Penders.
Penders joined Chelsea last summer from Belgian side Genk for around €20m, and the Blues are believed to have high hopes for the 19-year-old.

However, they are keen to avoid a situation where he spends three consecutive years on loan, like with Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea are believed to be considering a loan to Strasbourg, which would make sense and feels like the natural next step, but it’s vital the Blues make the right decision.
