Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has praised his side after their 4-2 pre-season victory against Liverpool as a “good match and great practice” for the Rossoneri “against a very strong team.”
Speaking to Milan TV, with quotes via MilanNews.it, Allegri was impressed by his team’s press resistance and appeared proud of their hard-working attitude.
Rafael Leao and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both scored a goal and a second-half brace for Noah Okafor saw the Rossoneri comfortably stride to victory.

Even though it was just a pre-season friendly, the result is cause for optimism for Milan. With Allegri at the helm and the club trying to make sensible moves in the transfer market, there appears to be a concerted effort amongst the Rossoneri leadership to usher in a new era.
Speaking about the match, Allegri said “It was a good match and great practice for us. We played against a very strong team. What matters most is maintaining balance because we are still at the start and the season, full of important matches, hasn’t started yet. We have to keep working this way but, most importantly, the guys are showing a positive attitude. On the pitch, they are helping each other a lot and that is something very important for the outcome.”
“Then of course, when you win, it always feels good but I believe the most important thing at this point is to keep working calmly, with a great sense of balance, without getting carried away when we win and without getting down when we lose.”
