Manchester United are reportedly one step away from reaching a full agreement with Amad Diallo over a new contract.
The young Ivorian has been on the club’s books since sealing a transfer from Atalanta in January 2021. However, the winger has only recently emerged as a pillar at Old Trafford, as he’s been making leaps and bounds since the start of the campaign, especially following the departure of Erik ten Hag.
The 22-year-old has been a thorn at the back for opposition clubs. He has already contributed with six goals and seven assists in 28 appearances across all competitions, with his most memorable outing coming in the Derby against Manchester City when he orchestrated a dramatic late comeback that prompted his club captain Bruno Fernandes to hail him as ‘unstoppable’.
However, Amad’s contract situation remains an issue that the Red Devils need to solve, as his deal will expire at the end of the season. And while the club has an option to push the deadline back to June 2026, INEOS is seeking a long-term solution as the player is considered one of the protagonists that they can build upon for the future.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League giants have are now on the cusp of finalizing the agreement with the winger’s entourage. The Italian journalist believes the two parties are now ironing out the last details before announcing the deal.
“Manchester United are prepared to seal Amad Diallo’s new contract, it’s all set with final details being sorted,” posted Romano on his X account.
“New long-term deal, salary improved and no need to take one-year option until 2026 as the contract will be completely new as planned months ago.”
Therefore, United fans can expect positive news on this particular front over the next few days or weeks.
