Paul Merson has been talking about Arsenal, Newcastle United and Alexander Isak.

You would almost think Newcastle United had no part to play in this…

Paul Merson urging the club he supports, to ‘break the bank’ and sign the best striker in the Premier League.

I know how irritating this all is BUT as Newcastle United fans, I think the best reaction to this is laugher, not anger.

Take it as a huge compliment.

Paul Merson and Arsenal (and 99% of the media…) would love Alexander Isak to be taken away from us BUT it is not going to happen AND certainly not to Arsenal!

Why would Newcastle United this month sell their best player and striker/goalscorer, the best in the Premier League?

Alexander Isak has three and a half years left on his contract, has given zero encouragement to any other club that he wants to leave Newcastle United. Whilst NUFC’s hopes of winning a first trophy in a ‘few’ years and qualifying for the Champions League, massively rely on Alexander Isak doing the business these next five months.

As I say, take it as a huge compliment, Newcastle United have a number of players that pretty much any other club would be desperate to have, but it isn’t happening.

“If I was Arsenal and I had the money, I would go and buy Alexander Isak.

“I would break the bank for him.

“I think he is the best of the best.

“I think he takes Arsenal to another level.

“I am looking at the all-round picture and next season as well.

“I think that if they can get hold of Isak, who I think is the best in the business at the moment, I think that will be a massive coup for Arsenal.

“The way Arsenal play, I would have to go with Alexander Isak [over Erling Haaland].
