Kristjan Asllani has two months to save his Inter Milan career, as the club consider whether to move ahead with him or try to cash in this summer.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the Albania international must convince the Nerazzurri that he has a place in the team over the final weeks of the season.
The former Empoli midfielder has struggled to establish himself at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza since arriving in 2022, having been unable to usurp Marcelo Brozovic and then Hakan Calhanoglu from the first team.
Asllani is suspended for upcoming fixtures in both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, against AC Milan and Bayern Munich respectively, but this could work in his favour.
With Calhanoglu due to feature in those crunch cup game, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is set to rotate domestically in order to offer the Turkish midfielder a rest, giving Asllani an opportunity against Parma in Serie A.
It will then be up to Asllani to take his chance, but should he fail to impress sufficiently then Inter will look to move him on.
Fellow midfielder Davide Frattesi is also expected to depart in the summer, and even with the incoming Petar Sucic and a potential arrival of dream signing Nico Paz, Asllani would still need to be replaced.
