Manchester United could benefit after Al-Nassr have made an enquiry into the availability of Marseille forward Mason Greenwood.
The Saudi Pro League side have made an approach to sign Greenwood, who scored 21 league goals last season to fire Marseille to Champions League qualification and finish as the joint-leading scorer in Ligue 1.
Greenwood joined Marseille from Manchester United in a £26.7m deal last summer. The forward had not featured for the Red Devils since being arrested on 30 January 2022 on suspicion of rape. The charges were later dropped, citing the withdrawal of key witnesses and “new material that came to light”.
However, a decision was made to sell the striker with the club stating “difficulties with him recommencing his career” with United.
United included a 50% sell-on clause in that deal and will be entitle to a large share of any further transfer. Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Marseille do not want to sell Greenwood, but Al-Nassr are weighing up a big offer.
