Al-Ittihad’s move for Arthur Theate on verge of collapse | OneFootball

Arthur Theate (24) had looked set to leave Stade Rennais this summer in a surprising move to Al-Ittihad. Everything was in order for the talented Belgian defender to swap the north of France for the gulf state when reports of infighting at the Saudi Arabian club threatened to unravel the deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Theate had completed his medical in Paris, while his contracts were all ready to be signed to make the deal official. However, the move is now on the verge of collapsing, with internal conflicts blocking the deal from being completed.

Theate could still leave Rennes this summer with reports of Premier League clubs being interested in capitalising on this situation to collect a talent who has become a mainstay for both his club and country. However, for now, it appears as if the centre-back will not become one of the new faces in the Saudi Pro League.
