The agent of Inter Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu put wild rumors linking his client with a transfer to Istanbul to bed.
Speaking to TRT Spor via FCInterNews, Gordon Stipic confirmed he never held talks with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.
Calhanoglu’s future has been among the major talking points this summer.
Despite turning down a move to Bayern Munich only a year ago, he has again found himself at the center of transfer speculation.
However, this time, it was Galatasaray and Fenerbahce who had reportedly tried to lure him away from San Siro.
The player’s alleged desire to return to his homeland sparked the media’s imagination.
Yet, there’s no reason for panic as Hakan Calhanoglu intends to stay at the club beyond the summer.
After weeks of guessing, the truth has finally come to light.
Indeed, the player has never had any intention of departing the Nerazzurri.

“There have been no talks with Turkish clubs,” Stipic said. “Hakan Calhanoglu will play for Inter next season.
“From the information I have, Galatasaray have other plans.
“Everyone dreams of playing for their boyhood club, but Hakan is happy at Inter.
“We will hold talks after the holidays and assess the situation from a professional standpoint.
“Hakan has fully Turkish roots, and I cannot hide that he had a childhood passion for Galatasaray.
“But they have not made any offers.
“And I can also say that we have had no talks with Fenerbahçe, although both are very well-known, top-level European clubs.
“The reports are unfounded – they have nothing to do with reality. No one has sat down with anyone.
“There is not even a table,” he concluded.
Stipic’s confirmation means Inter can now relax and focus on other summer dealings.
