AFC Wimbledon fans saw their team beat Premier League new boys Ipswich Town in the last round.

So what have their supporters made of drawing Newcastle United…

AFC Wimbledon fans commenting on drawing Newcastle United via their Old Centrals’ Repository message board:

‘I went on at 12.04 to get two hospitality tickets but it’s sold out. How can that be the case?’

‘lol hospitality sold out in 5 minutes?’

‘I just can’t believe hospitality tickets went in three minutes. Was it all the Geordies buying them up???’

’25 quid for the posh seats too, can’t complain, cheaper than a L2 game.’

‘That’s normal price, we are up with the most expensive repd.

The comfort blanket of fan owned is pricing some of our fans out of attending.’

‘Better chance of beating the scum now we aren’t playing the geordies until 24th. Might of had a few with one eye on that game if it was the following Tuesday. Now they can fully concentrate on the Bletchley Stealers.’

‘Shame on the Newcastle date for me personally as I’ll be away. I don’t tend to care too much about the League Cup these days but that game does at least have a little bit of excitement about it.’

‘In Newcastle for Great North Run.’

‘When you have seen wimbledon play Newcastle 12 times at home in our golden era,not worried about missing out later this month.’

‘Newcastle are not in Europe and are specifically targeting one of the two domestic trophies this season. The CC is the only competition they are in, apart from the PL, this side of the new year.’

‘Carabao Cup must be Newcastle’s best chance of a Trophy. They’ll certainly have the key players on the bench if not in the starting 11.’

‘Having watched the match against spuds this pm, got me wondering how much Newcastle will go for it and what sort of squad they may put out’

‘After watching Newcastle beating Spurs today, I think they are there for the taking, just as long as we can get Burn to score a couple of own goals… ‘

‘Maybe wrong but I think Ipswich’s squad is nearer our level (overall). I don’t think Newcastle’s squad is. Will take some performance to get something against them. But it’s been a month of good performances so at least we’ve earned some money from the 2 home games.’

‘Just looking at Newcastle forums, apparently Carl Cort is a taxi driver in the USA these days, explains why he never seems to be mentioned’

‘My Mansfield supporting mate just asked which oppo i would choose if we could win only one of MK or Newcastle, which would it be?’

‘Wow- biggest game to date at NPL by a mile.’

‘Everyone saying Spuds haven’t won anything since Oasis split up but The Geordies haven’t won anything since The Beatles split up.’

‘If my geordie mates are anything to go by then they still think they have a divine right to win something big.’

‘The last time I went to St. James’ Park was just before their total trophy drought started.

I did the three parks (St James’, Roker and Ayresome) during 1967-70 but skipped Victoria Park.’

‘Seeing as Newcastle hadn’t won the Cup since 1955, no trophy since 1967 (and still haven’t) I’m surprised they thought they had a divine right to win it.’

‘I have to say Newcastle in the Cup was epic, stayed with my sister who lived nearby at the time, I was buzzing for days afterwards with the adrenaline.’

‘Ah, Mirandinha. Aimed a kick at Beasant after the final whistle in the FA Cup 88 game, which was the most he did all game.’

‘Good days against Newcastle in our golden era days.’

‘His name is Mirandinha , He’s not from Argentina, He’s from Brazil, He’s f…ing Brill!’

‘Our home record (at Plough Lane and Selhurst Park) against Newcastle is not too shabby. P12 W7 D5 L0.’

”Biggest’ club to visit the new Plough Lane in a competitive fixture. Also we haven’t played them in about a quarter of a century. Looking forward to it.’

‘We need to get out of this division and Newcastle Reserves in the Carabou Cup is a pure distraction.’

‘At least the Geordies know which side their stotties are buttered on.’

‘Well our 3rd match in the cup is Newcastle, 88 it was Newcastle, (it’s a sign).’
