Abdoulaye Doucouré (32) will leave Everton at the end of the season, according to a report from L’Équipe. The Malian international’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
There was an option in Doucouré’s contract to extend his deal with the Merseyside club for a further year, however, it was mutually agreed that this option would not be exercised with the end of the season approaching. The former Stade Rennais midfielder will therefore be available as a free agent this summer.
L’Équipe understands that Doucouré, a regular starter at Everton over the course of the past five seasons, will not be short of interest from other clubs. Premier League rivals, who have not been named by the publication, have manifested an interest in a free transfer, whilst he is also the subject of interest from clubs in the Middle East. Clubs from the UAE and Saudi Arabia are in the running.
