Moroccan international striker Abderrazak Hamdallah appears poised for a new challenge this summer, as reports indicate the 34-year-old marksman is closing in on a move from Al Shabab to Saudi Pro League rivals Al Fateh.
There, he would reunite with fellow countryman Mourad Batna, adding a familiar face to a fresh chapter in his career.
The potential transfer comes amid a period of restructuring under Al Shabab’s newly appointed Spanish manager, Imanol Alguacil. Following a turbulent start to the season—including a heavy 5–0 defeat to Al Khaleej—the Basque coach is eager to reshape the squad, and Hamdallah no longer seems central to his tactical vision.
As a result, the departure of the experienced forward emerges as a logical step for both club and player.
Since first setting foot in Saudi Arabia in 2018, Hamdallah didn't just adapt—he dominated. Quickly emerging as one of the most lethal forwards in the league, he carved out a legacy defined by precision, consistency, and an almost instinctual ability to find the net.
With more than 120 Saudi Pro League goals to his name, the Moroccan striker didn’t just compete—he set the standard, finishing as the league’s top scorer in three consecutive seasons (2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21). Even last season, split between Al Ittihad and Al Shabab, his goal-scoring prowess never wavered. Hamdallah found the back of the net around 15 times across all competitions, once again proving that class, indeed, is permanent.
