FC Barcelona will be looking to strengthen their forward line with the highest priority in the upcoming summer transfer window, but in addition to this, the Catalans would also like to reinforce some other weak areas in their team.
One such area that the Blaugranes believe they need to strengthen is the fullback position, where Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are the two fixed starters for Hansi Flick this season.
However, the replacements for these starters are only the rather inexperienced Hector Fort and Gerard Martin, and Hansi Flick reportedly wants more competent backups for this position.
As a result, Barcelona have been linked with several fullbacks in the last few weeks, including the likes of Andrei Ratiu, Omar El Hilali, and Jon Aramburu.
Now, Fichajes has identified the name of another very exciting fullback who has already offered himself to the Blaugrana club, i.e., the Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutch defender is a key part of the current Bundesliga title-holding team but is looking to make the jump to one of the biggest teams in Europe. As a result, he has already offered himself to the two Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Frimpong was a key part of the Leverkusen team that won the Bundesliga title last season, and stood out particularly with his speed, attacking prowess, and ability to create dangerous attacking moves. On an individual level, his performances allow him to emerge as one of the best-attacking right-backs in Europe.

With Hansi Flick already looking to strengthen his flanks, Frimpong would be a very exciting option as he fits perfectly with his attacking style of play.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also looking for a new right-back, and although Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the most closely linked player for this position, the Dutchman, who is €50m-rated on Transfermarkt, is also another highly interesting alternative.
For now, it remains to be seen which of these two teams will make the first moves to incorporate Frimpong into their team, and whether this will spark another transfer battle between the two eternal rivals.
