Liverpool will be on red alert after an Alexander Isak bombshell. The Reds have a massive decision to make here.
Liverpool are still desperate to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. That's been the case since the start of the year, however, as the Swede has long been their no.1 target.
Only, it's never been clear if it's doable. Isak certainly wants to join Liverpool and the Reds will happily pay a record-breaking fee to get him - but Newcastle's stance is unpredictable.

In an ideal world, they'd love to keep him. No question there. But Isak is pressing to leave the club, forcing Newcastle into a difficult position.
The sense is that they would sell Isak if they had a replacement for him. That's what Liverpool believe, anyway, according to the Athletic.
They've tried to sign that replacement, to be fair to them. The problem is that every elite striker has rejected them, forcing them way down their shortlist.
But is appears Newcastle may soon sign a striker. They're at the stage of throwing bids at Wolves for Jorgen Strand Larsen - although, there's been a bit of a bombshell on that one.
Newcastle have seen a £50m bid rejected for Strand Larsen. That means they'll either fail yet again to sign a striker or they'll need to up that bid.
However, that's not the bombshell. The bombshell, courtesy of the Chronicle's Lee Ryder, is that Strand Larsen isn't actually intended to be the Isak replacement.
He's the Callum Wilson replacement.
Wilson left Newcastle this summer with the end of his contract and was the only other recognised striker at the club. The suggestion here is that if the Magpies will only sell Isak after replacing him, they'll actually need to sign Strand Larsen and another striker.
Anyone who's been paying attention knows that is almost impossible. It's been difficult enough for them to find one striker, let alone two good options.
And they might not even get one - their offer for Strand Larsen was rejected and Wolves flat-out don't want to sell. This should panic Liverpool.
Because the longer this drags on, the less likely it looks that Liverpool will get Isak. Their reaction must be to find someone else - some sort of alternative forward who can boost the numbers as the squad is light up top.
Something has got to budge and move forward here. It certainly doesn't appear to be Newcastle who will do that.
Liverpool must take this into their own hands. Even if it means abandoning Plan A.
