Andriy Lunin has on Sunday night become the 4th member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid to be forced to pull out of national team duty for the October break.
This comes owing to what has been described as a ‘viral infection’.
Goalkeeper Lunin had for his part been included in Ukraine’s squad for the country’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Georgia and Czechia.
As confirmed by Diario AS, amongst a host of other sources late this evening, however:
‘He will stay in Madrid during the break. Resting, recovering. Because he is suffering from a “viral infection” and has received the OK from his Federation to be absent.’
Lunin becomes the 4th member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to have dropped out of international duty over the course of the day to date.
This comes after all of Dani Carvajal, Vinícius Jr. and Éder Militão did likewise, owing to respective injury setbacks.
