Ashley Young is in talks to rejoin former club Watford with the wideman keen to extend his playing career.
Young celebrated his 40th birthday last week but has no plans to retire after leaving Everton this summer. Watford are exploring a deal to sign the veteran, who made 32 appearances in the Premier League last season.
Young started his career with the Hornets, scoring 22 goals in 110 appearances before moving to Aston Villa in a club-record deal in January 2007.
The former England international later had spells with Manchester United, Inter Milan, a second spell at Aston Villa, and Everton before departing the latter when his contract expired earlier this month.
He won league titles in England and Italy and earned 37 caps for England, scoring seven goals. Watford, who finished 14th in the Championship last season, are now exploring a free transfer move as the club rebuild under new head coach Paulo Pezzolano.
