Barcelona and Real Madrid are both set to be without the services of key players for this weekend’s El Clásico.
This season’s final edition of Spanish football’s biggest fixture is of course set to play out in Catalunya’s capital on Sunday evening.
The matchup marks nothing short of a crucial one when it comes to the La Liga title race.
As things stand, it is Barcelona who boast the advantage in the table, sitting four points clear of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real.
In the case of the Blaugrana emerging on the right side of the result this weekend, with just three games of the season remaining, the champions will in turn be all but decided.
Should Real Madrid spring a surprise and secure Clásico bragging rights for the first time this season, though, the title race will be blown wide open once more.
In efforts towards as much, Carlo Ancelotti will be unable to call upon a host of leading members of his squad, with six players ruled out through injury.
The stars in question? Dani Carvajal, Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, and Eduardo Camavinga.
Turning attentions towards hosts Barcelona, and Hansi Flick is without four sidelined players, namely Jules Koundé, Marc Casadó, Marc Bernal, and Pablo Torre.
Alejandro Balde and Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, are still working towards full fitness following respective recent spells on the sidelines.
