Antonee Robinson has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and the Anfield faithful saw first-hand on Saturday what the left-back could bring to Arne Slot’s side.
Liverpool failed to win against Fulham at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Reds were reduced to 10 men after just 17 minutes when Andy Robertson was sent off. It was remarkable that Liverpool were able to pick up a point from the match.
Robinson was one of Fulham’s best players. The left-back gave the two assists for the two goals that the Cottagers scored.
After the match, Robinson took to Instagram to express his delight at the result. The Fulham left-back wrote: “Another point on the board +1”.
As you can see below, a couple of Liverpool fans responded to the defender’s comments urging him to move to Anfield, and he liked them.
Robinson has been linked with Liverpool for a while now. There was speculation back in March 2024 that the Reds were keen on a deal for the Fulham star in the summer of 2024.
Two separate media reports in England in November 2024 claimed that Liverpool are still interested in Robinson.
With Robertson now 30 and his back-up Kostas Tsimikas not really first-choice material, there is a case to be made about Robinson making Liverpool better at left-back.
Robertson has not been at his best for a while. Liverpool need to find a replacement for the Scottish star. Robinson could be that player.
Robinson is 27 at the moment and is at the top of his game. He has been at Fulham since 2020 and has played 50 times for the USA national football team.
The American left-back, who cost the Cottagers just £2 million (Sky Sports) in transfer fees, has given 13 assists and kept 22 clean sheets in 116 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The left-back will surely have aspirations to win something major in his career and play for a bigger club.
A move to Liverpool would be hugely tempting for Robinson. While Fulham are unlikely to consider selling him in the January transfer window, things could change next summer if the Reds make a big offer.
