Everton are looking to strengthen their attacking department this summer. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin a free agent, David Moyes is left with only Beto as a reliable centre-forward. The team now need a player who can not only score goals but also provide depth to the attack. That’s why the club looked at several options, including names like Artem Dovbyk and Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic, with his experience and goal-scoring habit, made his mark in Serie A, and looked very attractive to Everton.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Everton have inquired about Vlahovic’s availability from Juventus. West Ham United are also in the race for the Serbian’s signature. The 25-year-old Serbian forward is now in the final year of his contract with Juventus, and the club are willing to make a profit by selling him.
However, his monthly salary of around €2 million makes a Premier League move difficult. This financial challenge is standing like a wall for the Toffees. Meanwhile, French journalist Sebastien Vidal claimed that Vlahovic has rejected Everton’s offer.

The Juventus striker had scored 10 goals in 29 matches so far in the Serie A 2024/2025 season. Overall, Dusan Vlahovic’s goals scored per 90 minutes were 0.5. Moreover, the 25-year-old’s total G/A (goals + assists) was 14 for the last season. His goal involvement equated to 0.71 per 90 minutes, and his Non-Penalty xG per 90 minutes was 0.41. This put Dusan Vlahovic’s npxG output at 6.70, which puts him in the top 95th percentile of Serie A players by the end of the season (stats via FootyStats).
There could be many reasons behind Vlahovic’s decision. His place in Juventus is still strong, and he is regularly playing in the starting eleven. Everton are currently a mid-table club in the Premier League, often fighting to stay alive in the Premier League and are not playing in any European competition, which reduces the attraction for top players.
Moreover, it is difficult for Everton to afford his high salary. Vlahovic may be waiting for an offer from a big club, where he will not only get a high level of competition but also a chance to take the next step in his career. This result is disappointing for Everton, but the club will now have to look at other options.
