Manchester United take on Everton in a Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon, with new head coach Ruben Amorim looking for his first win in the competition after last week’s draw with Ipswich Town.
But there will be a couple of players walking a tightrope during the game, particularly with a match against Arsenal coming up on Wednesday.
Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are both on four Premier League yellow cards for the season, knowing that a fifth would mean a one-game suspension. So if either player picks up a booking against Everton, they’ll be unavailable to face Arsenal.
For those interested, Arsenal’s only player currently close to the limit is Gabriel Jesus, also on four cards. But with Arsenal’s match against West Ham now complete, he’ll be available on Wednesday.

In terms of other potential absentees against Arsenal, Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans have both had recent injuries, and it’ll be worth keeping an eye on whether they’re fit to make the squad against Everton. Both are very close to a comeback now.
Leny Yoro seems less likely to be involved against Arsenal, and he’s certainly not expected to play against Everton, having spent a few months on the sidelines following his pre-season injury against the Gunners.
Finally, Victor Lindelof will miss the Arsenal game with a groin injury.

With all those defensive injury worries, Martinez’s availability becomes all the more important, so he’ll certainly want to avoid getting booked in the Everton match.
