Lewis Travis has been the subject of interest from Derby County.

Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis is wanted at Derby County, with former manager John Eustace keen to bring the midfielder to Pride Park.

Blackburn have been rocked by the news that club captain Lewis Travis wants to leave the club to link back up with former manager John Eustace at Derby.

Rovers lost their opening Championship game 1-0 away to West Brom thanks to an Isaac Price goal from close range, with Travis being replaced by Sidnei Tavares in the 81st minute.

The 27-year-old was an unused substitute for Blackburn on Tuesday night as they crashed out of the League Cup at home to Bradford City, losing the tie 2-1 thanks to two early goals from the Bantams.

The Times reported on Tuesday that Derby had seen a £1.5 million bid plus add-ons rejected by Blackburn, with manager Valerien Ismael telling BBC Radio Lancashire: "We know that there is interest. He wants to leave, but we said that if the price was right for the club - like Callum Brittain - then we will see."

It remains to be seen where Travis' future lies, but there is every chance he could leave Ewood Park in the coming weeks and with that, Football League World has looked at two more players that could follow Travis out of the door.

Aynsley Pears

Towards the end of last season, goalkeeper Pears spent the final four games of the season on the bench, with Hungarian shot-stopper Balazs Toth taking his place between the sticks.

Despite this, Pears was Rovers' number one throughout the vast majority of last season and has been since taking the number one spot after Belgian keeper Thomas Kaminski departed the club for Luton.

The Lancashire Telegraph reported that Pears was left out of the Rovers that travelled to NEC Nijmegen during pre-season despite returning from injury.

Toth started in between the sticks for Rovers' 1-0 loss on the opening day against West Brom, whilst academy graduate Nicholas Michalski was preferred in net for their loss to Bradford on Tuesday.

Ismael has shown a clear statement of intent as to where Pears stands, and it would be surprising to see him stay at Ewood Park beyond the window.

John Buckley

Like Pears, The Lancashire Telegraph reported that Buckley had been left out of the squad that travelled to the Netherlands in pre-season.

The 25-year-old midfielder has spent his entire career at Rovers, aside from a brief loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday in the first half of the 2023/24 season, since coming through the academy.

The Englishman has been used as a squad player throughout his time in Lancashire, apart from the 2021/22 season, where he made 42 Championship appearances, scoring three times and assisting seven.

Apart from that, Buckley has never managed over 30 league games in a season, and with him being left out of the squad that travelled to West Brom, that doesn't seem likely to change this season as long as he remains at Blackburn.

Under contract until 2027, Buckley will unlikely be a Rovers player come the end of the window. A loan move may be sanctioned should an acceptable permanent offer not arrive, though we will be surprised if he isn't moved on sooner rather than later.
