Things are moving pretty quick in terms of Chelsea’s latest transfer, which has come from nowhere to dominate timelines today.

It was only 24 hours ago that interest in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was first mentioned, but since then the story has moved quickly. Top insider Fabrizio Romano gave this morning’s big update, claiming that Chelsea’s interest had collapsed an existing framework of a deal with Brighton, and that the Blues were intending to use players as makeweights in any move for the midfielder.

Romano followed up by suggesting David Fofana and Cesare Casadei could be among the players used in a swap. Others then pointed to Armando Broja as a potential pawn in a trade. But the well informed Ben Jacobs has just Tweeted out that he understands “Broja is not part of any potential Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall deal.”

Broja’s future is certainly not at Chelsea

Even with this move off the table, it still seems pretty certain that Broja leaves this summer. Jacobs adds that the Albania striker is “still likely to leave Chelsea this summer,” and we’d imagine his future is going to be settle pretty rapidly now that he’s returning from the Euros.

There doesn’t seem to be much belief in his ability within the club, and the desire to bring in some “pure profit” from selling him really makes it seem almost inevitable he leaves on a permanent deal sooner rather than later.

We’re sure we will hear more about potential destinations down the line. The whole market is a little gummed up at the moment as clubs worry about this weekend’s FFP and PSR deadlines. After that, we should finally see some liquidity and some certainty.

We would expect the promoted teams to be interested, and AC Milan have also been linked to the striker in the recent past.
