FC Barcelona dismantled Daegu FC in their final pre-season friendly on the Asian tour. Hansi Flick’s men won 5-0 on the night, and the goals simply did not stop coming.

A brace from Gavi and goals from Robert Lewandowski, Marcus Rashford, and Toni Fernandez helped the Catalans get past their South Korean opposition.

It was Toni’s first goal for the senior Barcelona team. Playing on the left flank, which isn’t a natural position for him, the La Masia graduate managed to impress.

Now, as per MARCA, Toni Fernandez continues to knock on the door of the first team with his performances during pre-season. It is also clear that Hansi Flick rates him highly.

Although he is primarily an attacking midfielder, the Spanish starlet has looked comfortable playing on both the right and the left. His versatility could prove valuable for Hansi Flick over the course of the season.

Going forward this season, one would expect Toni to return to Barça B and continue his development, although there is no doubt that he would be a part of the first-team dynamic.

The teenager is a player for the future. He has what it takes to become an important player for the senior Barcelona team, and only time will tell how things play out.
