Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to finish the 2021/22 Serie A season on a high note amid clouds of uncertainties over his future at Milan.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport explains how it could be Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s final season at Milan. Since the start of the 2021/22 campaign, Ibrahimovic has struggled with his fitness issues. Due to his worsening knee conditions, the Swede has been restricted to only 988 minutes of playing time in Serie A this season.

The report speculates that his knee injury, which keeps tormenting the athlete, might need another surgery like the one carried out last summer. And the player is also unsure of his future at the Italian club. Milan will play their title-decider against Sassuolo next weekend. Winning that would result in the Rossoneri lifting their 19th Scudetto.

As mentioned before, the 40-year-old aspires to end the season with the coveted Scudetto. And then, he will focus on nursing his injury completely and deciding on his future at Milan. From 22 league appearances, the former PSG striker has racked up eight goals and three assists this season.

Although he has not been able to play an integral part in shaping the team’s fortune on the field, his off-field persona has definitely been a massive boost to the Scudetto aspirants. Ibrahimovic’s current contract with the club runs out in June 2022.
