Milan’s consultant Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now hit back at former club director Zvone Boban, referring to himself as a lion – not for the first time.
Ibrahimovic never backs away from making interesting statements about himself and he has made some again. Boban had recently questioned Ibra’s role in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, suggesting that there is no clarity about what his role at Milan is anymore.
Boban himself was the director at the club not long ago and Ibrahimovic recently spoke to Sky Italia, responding to Boban’s statements in rather Zlatan way indeed.
“When the lion goes away, the kittens arrive; when the lion comes back, the kittens disappear. The level is very low, there is too much talk but I only think about working. I was away for personal reasons, but I have been here since day one. My role? It’s simple: I’m in charge, I’m the boss and everyone else works for me.”
There have generally been question marks about Ibrahimovic’s role in recruitment at Milan, with fans questioning the club’s vision and the signings that have been made.
The arrival of Emerson Royal from Tottenham hasn’t gone down well and there is constant talk in the media about alliances at the club, when it comes to planning.
