Now with AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes his former club are on the right track to achieve their lofty European aims, empathizing with coach Mauricio Pochettino in his job managing some of world football's biggest names.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival at PSG in 2012 marked the beginning of a golden era at the club, and his 113 Ligue 1 Uber Eats goals (in just 122 appearances!) made him the club's all-time top scorer until his record was eclipsed by Edinson Cavani.

Tough job

Although he has moved on from the capital club and now plies his trade with AC Milan once again - at the ripe old age of 40 - Ibrahimovic keeps an eye on his former side's fortunes and knows that coach Mauricio Pochettino's job managing a squad filled with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé - not to mention the massive expectations that come with it - is no walk in the park. "Coaching and managing such a talented squad is not easy," the giant Swede told Le Journal du Dimanche. "From what I can see, PSG is doing what it has to do." Zlatan wasn't built in a day

With two runs to Champions League semi-finals in the past two seasons - the first of which saw them make the final - Paris Saint-Germain are inching closer to continental gold and Ibrahimovic feels that this is the way the dream will become a reality. "Leading the world is not done in twenty-four hours," he said, putting his own spin on the age-old adage concerning Rome. "It's a marathon with ups and downs. Chelsea took nine years [to win the Champions League] after being bought by Roman Abramovich."

There he is

Zlatan then followed up on these measured and utterly reasonable remarks with a trademark quip when asked whether he would ever return to the capital club once his illustrious (and also really long!) playing career is over. "The day I want to be sporting director of PSG, I will be." Boom. Best goals - Zlatan Ibrahimovic
