Roma hope to get a discount on the €6m Legia Warsaw asking price for Jan Ziolkowski, as he reportedly prefers them to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The negotiations had already been advanced for the defender, who only just celebrated his 20th birthday in June.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the talks are dragging on with Roma hoping to whittle down the request of €6m.

Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano notes that Borussia Monchengladbach called up Legia Warsaw to ask for information, but that doesn’t mean this is going to turn into a bidding war.
Instead, he claims that Ziolkowski reiterated his preference for Roma, giving the Italians a boost in their hopes to negotiate an agreement for a good price.
He is a product of the Legia Warsaw youth academy and stepped up to the senior squad in January 2023 as a teenager.
The central defender only recently put pen to paper on a new contract, which runs to May 2028.
