Even though Zinedine Zidane has allowed Keylor Navas to leave this summer, making Thibaut Courtois the undisputed number one next season, there’s still goalkeeper controversy at Real Madrid.
According to MARCA, the Real Madrid gaffer wants his son, Luca, to back up Courtois, as he sees very little difference between him and Andriy Lunin.
However, the board prefers the 20-year-old Lunin to be the number two option, despite failing to secure the Leganes starting goalkeeper job this past season while on loan.
The three-time Ukranian international has featured just six times, earning three clean sheets and allowing five goals during his time at the club and will return to Los Blancos this summer.
Luca Zidane prominently featured for the Real Madrid Castilla side and made just one LaLiga start in a 3-2 victory over Huesca back in March.
Luca was promoted to the third-choice goalkeeper after Kiko Casilla left for Leeds in the January window.
