Zinedine Zidane has admitted that while he is saddened by Eden Hazard’s latest injury woes, he is backing him to overcome it.
The Belgian has incredibly picked up yet another fitness problem, with a thigh issue ruling him out for the next three weeks.
It means he has started just three league games this season, much to the disappointment of his coach.
“Hazard is very strong and he has always shown that in his time here,” Zidane told reporters ahead of Real’s clash with Shakhtar on Tuesday.
“It is just one more injury for him and it is a f***ed up situation for him and for us.
“It didn’t happen to him a lot before in his career and now this … but he’ll come back stronger.
“But it is also happening to many clubs. We have to move on with it. It isn’t a psychological problem because I have no doubts about the player he is.”
Zidane also had a very stern message for those who continue to criticise the performances of Marco Asensio.
“What you all have to do is stop talking about him and just let him play,” he said when asked about the attacker.
“He has to regain his confidence through his football. He’s been injured for a year but little by little, we’re going to see the best of Marco.
“Outsiders – leave him alone.”
