Zinedine Zidane spoke at the virtual press conference ahead of the semi-final in the Spanish Super Cup, which sees Real Madrid take on Athletic Club at La Rosaleda (Thursday, 9:00 pm CET): “We've been in Malaga for four days preparing for the match and we're doing well. We're pleased we can play. We will have to make sure we compete because we are up against a good team. We're going to have to work extremely hard, fight for every ball and put on a good performance.”

"We're been playing well and when we slightly underperform we are always criticised. During the season there are always ups and downs and we're going to try to be at our best tomorrow. We hope the season will get progressively better."

Sergio Ramos “He's ok. He's been preparing for the game like everyone else. We're here for the game tomorrow and we're focussed on putting on a good display. Sergio is as well, obviously.” “The younger players have to keep working hard. All the players want to be involved and with 25 players it's inevitable that some play less. We're doing good and they train to be able to play more. We have a very long season and each player will provide something.”

Odegaard “He's very much a Real Madrid player, who is certain to succeed. He hasn't played much lately but he still has to work hard. He's going to get game time and we're going to need him because he gives us a lot. I think he's good. He's motivated and committed, and that's what's important.”

Jóvic “He's with us. He's not here because he's injured but he's with us. I haven't been told anything and we'll see what happens. He is a striker who scores a lot of goals and that's what we want him to do. He was 21 when he arrived here. He was very young. He hasn't been very lucky because he's also had difficulty adapting and had some injuries, but he has a lot to learn and he's going to do that. He will always show his quality. I've no doubt about that”.
