Zinedine Zidane addressed the media from the Alfredo Di Stéfano press room after the win over Valencia: "We're going to carry on with what we're doing. We're not going to be looking at the others. We're on a good run and we want to keep going because it's very important. I'm pleased for them. We played well today, defensively we all read the game very well. Everyone defended very well without the ball and when it came to creating and using the ball, we caused them a lot of problems in the first half and created some very good chances. We have to keep going".

"The improvement is obvious because we believe in what we're doing. During a season you sometimes have problems and you have to overcome them. We're doing that and we have to keep going because there's still a long way to go".

Mendy "I'm happy with him because he's only recently arrived. He can still improve a lot more and I'm happy to see that offensively he’s contributing to the team. The other day he scored a great goal, today he could have scored again but it was disallowed when there was only a foot in it. He's a player who can get up and down for us and that's a good thing". “I'm not going to comment on the fixture schedule. It was an important win and we've already got enough things going on. We've already spoken about these things and the fixture schedule is what it is. We didn't have a normal pre-season and we’ve got a lot of injuries. We’ll just keep on going. I hope to welcome my players back because that's the most important thing and I'm not going to comment on anything else”.

Injuries “As a coach, I don't understand them. We've had a lot of injuries. I'm concerned because when you lose a player it bothers you. It's an injury he’d recovered from and I'm sorry for Carva because he was feeling fine. He played really well for 25 minutes and he's an important player for us and I can't explain all of these injuries”.

“I always want all of my players to be with us. There's nothing worse for a coach than having an injured player. Carvajal has now gone and hurt himself again a little bit and I hope it's nothing serious. I can't tell you anything at all. We'll have to see what the injury is and how long he'll be out for”.
