Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane appeared at a virtual press conference ahead of the LaLiga matchday 27 fixture against Elche (4:15pm CET): "We always go out to win the game and it will always be that way. We're not thinking that they're a smaller team and that we'll win easily. Some games don't go well and that's normal during the year. We know the situation and if we want to fight for the league we can't drop any more points. That's what we're gooing to try to do".

There are no tricky games. We know that the league table doesn't tell you anything. Elche are at the bottom but they're a good team who've had some good games and now they've got a new coach. We know what the game has in store for us and we'll have to put in a great performance to get the three points. We're going to concentrate on putting in a great performance".

LaLiga "There are 12 games left to play and every team can pick up and drop points. We're a little bit behind but we can keep believing. We've dropped a lot of points, but we're going keep believing until the end and as long as there's a chance of being champions we're going to work for it".

Valverde "We know who Valverde is as a player, the tempo and speed he can bring to the team and of course we're going to be counting on him. We'll see how we're going to manage him ".

Varane "He always talks very well of the club and is very happy here. I can only see him at Real Madrid".

Are they not scoring enough goals? "There's always talk of the same thing. We've got what we've got and we work every week to improve our attacking play. We're going to try to improve the individual stats and every player wants to do that".

Ramos and Hazard's returns "We're very happy to have them back. We got three back last week and two this week. Our plan is for them to get some minutes, but I'm not going to say any more". "Sergio Ramos is a special player. His desire is there because he wants to keep playing. Of course he can play until he's 40, if he feels good each year, like he does at the moment. The good thing is that he feels that he can still do it, but we will see each year. The player is the one who decides when he wants to call it a day. There's no age for it".

Ramos' renewal "I don't know what will happen with his renewal. As a coach I want him to stay here because he's an important player for us. I want him to remain here to keep playing".

Praise for Hazard "He looks good physically and that's important. He's got over all the injuries and problems he had. He's with us and I hope he can play regularly. He's never had a long injury in his career and he's had a lot of niggles here, but he's got a long contract and I'm sure that when he's fit he'll do very well. It's very difficult when a player is injured".

Asensio "He's been involved on a daily basis for some time now and his injury hasn't held him back. He's been doing well gradually, but we're always going to ask for more from him because we know how good a player he is. We want more from him, he's working well and we're happy to have him with us".

The evolution of Vinicius Jr. "His evolution looks good to me, knowing that he's young and that he can still improve. He always wants to improve and trains well. It's just that we're at Real Madrid and we're always going to ask for more from every player. I'm sure he can give more out on the pitch".

The return of Cristiano Ronaldo "You know what he means to Real Madrid and the love we all have for him. He's made history here and been magnificent. He's a Juventus player now and he's doing great there. A lot of things are said, but he is a Juventus player and I have to respect that."

Camavinga "He's not one of our players and I can't tell you much. He's a good player, young and with a bright future".
