Zinedine Zidane has told the Real Madrid hierarchy which three players he wants to improve the quality of his squad this summer – and Paul Pogba is nowhere to be seen.

That’s according to reports in Spain on Monday which suggest that the French tactician has already given Florentino Perez his wishlist of new arrivals.

Los Blancos have endured their worst season in nearly two decades, and after reappointing Zidane last month, have given the coach a much greater say in who arrives at the end of the season.

El Confidencial claim that they know the three men that Zidane wants, but Pogba is not on the list.

Instead, the club’s main targets are Eden Hazard, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé and Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.

That contradicts a story from Goal on Sunday which claimed that Spurs were ‘increasingly confident’ that the Dane would sign a new contract in north London.

The same can also be said for Mbappé, who told the French press last night that was definitely staying at Parc des Princes despite heavy rumours of his departure.

El Confidencial though, insist that their information is correct, with Real Madrid willing to spend upwards of €400m this summer.
