A new head coach will arrive at AC Milan this summer, it seems, and Cesc Fabregas has been linked to the post, but the Spaniard will not arrive.

There have been a lot of names linked to the Milan post in recent weeks, but the Rossoneri are yet to really see anyone take the pole position. Reports this morning suggest that Massimiliano Allegri may be the most likely option, but that would depend on a new sporting director choosing him.

Elsewhere, the options are difficult to get; Antonio Conte, Vincenzo Italiano and Cesc Fabregas, all names with favour, but each holds a post of their own already, and their futures, whilst questioned, are not insecure.

So, this leaves Milan with few options – tread on toes, or take an easy option. However, it seems they have already thought of making an attempt for one, as Ivan Zazzaroni, the director of Corriere dello Sport, has stated that Fabregas has already rejected the idea, via Milan News.

“AC Milan are not yet thinking about the new coach because they do not yet have a sporting director. They will entrust the new sporting director with the choice of the new coach. Fabregas has already said no, just as he said no to Roma.

“The names they mention at Milan are always the same, like Conte, for example. There is talk, but they don’t talk about it.”
