Real Zaragoza will play their final match of the season earlier than originally planned, following a schedule change confirmed by the league. With both Real Zaragoza and Castellón secure from relegation and no pivotal positions at stake, the fixture has been moved forward to Friday, 30 May, with kick-off at 20:30.

The match was initially set for Sunday afternoon, but with neither club involved in the promotion race or threatened by the drop, the decision was made to bring the game forward. Zaragoza approach this fixture having secured survival in the penultimate round, climbing above Castellón in the standings thanks to a timely win over Deportivo de la Coruña and Castellón’s defeat in Granada.

The contest at Castalia marks the end of what has been a challenging campaign for Gabi Fernández and his squad. For Zaragoza, the only remaining incentive on the night is the chance to finish higher up the table and avoid ending the season as the lowest-ranked team among those who avoided relegation.

Elsewhere in the division, with relegation places already decided and Levante having secured one of the two automatic promotion spots, only one direct promotion place and the four playoff spots remain to be determined as the final round unfolds. Zaragoza’s clash with Castellón will now open the concluding matchday of the campaign.
