Zamalek considers terminating Faraj's contract
Signed in the summer of 2024 from AIK and then loaned out for six months to Degerfors IF in Sweden, Palestinian striker Omar Faraj could already be on his way out of Zamalek SC.
According to Egyptian daily Al-Dustour, the Cairo club's management is seriously considering terminating the 23-year-old's contract by mutual consent. Sporting director John Edward has reportedly already met with the forward to discuss an amicable parting of ways.
Back in Egypt after his loan spell, Faraj has yet to receive any official confirmation, but told Fotbollskanalen that a decision should be made soon:
I don't know exactly yet, but we'll talk about it soon once I have more information.
Under contract with Zamalek until 2027, Faraj has only scored once in five appearances for the Cairo giants.
