Borussia Dortmund have offered Youssoufa Moukoko (17) a long-term contract beyond 2023 but as reported by Bild, the German youth international wants a significant salary increase.

Moukoko wants to remain in Dortmund and the Bundesliga side have offered have reportedly offered a contract with an annual salary of €4m. However, representatives of Moukoko are demanding a salary closer to €6m with significantly more playing time.

Despite a desire to reach an agreement between all parties, discussions are on hold until the winter break. On November 20, Moukoko turns 18 which will also give the forward more control over his sporting future, independently of his parents.

Moukoko scored the only goal in Borussia Dortmund’s derby win against Schalke prior to the international break. The 17-year-old has scored two and created two in 155 minutes across six Bundesliga games this season.

Lucien Favre awarded Moukoko his Bundesliga debut in November 2020, one day after his 16th birthday. He’s since played 774 minutes of Bundesliga football across 36 games.
