It has been a season of injuries for OGC Nice. An injury crisis threatened to derail Le Gym’s campaign, however, with a whole starting XI out at one point, Franck Haise kept the ship afloat. Not only that, he even has the club challenging for qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
However, having had a full squad at his disposal for the last few matchdays, injuries have returned. Mohamed Abdelmonem suffered an ACL injury during the 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Friday. The Egyptian is to undergo surgery and will miss several months of competition.
The same fate has now befallen Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Nice-Matin understands. The injury came during a duel at the end of Wednesday’s training session, according to L’Équipe. The Burundi international, like Abdelmonem, will now miss several months of action.
Ndayishimiye has been a fixture at centre-back and his injury, coupled with that of Abdelmonem, limits Haise’s options. Dante may, however, return from a knee injury to face Stade de Reims this Friday.
